科学精神是中国学生发展六大核心素养之一。理性思维、批判质疑、勇于探究是科学精神的内涵。拥有科学精神的前提之一就是具备发展充分的思维品质，在信息时代，做个明辨是非、去伪存真的理性人是拥有科学精神的示例。《逻辑学》试图通过系统讲授亚里士多德三段论、命题逻辑、经典归纳法和非形式论证等逻辑学知识，让学生在掌握这些知识的同时提升逻辑推演的能力，提升学生的思维品质，培养其科学精神。
[Rationality in thinking, criticism by question and investigation with adventure characterize scientific spirit. To have the scientific spirit needs well-established logical training, and again the scientific spirit can be instantiated by a logical head seeking truth. Logic is a course intended to reveal the rational ways one seeks truth. They are what the students will learn: Syllogism, Propositional Logic, Classic Induction and Argumentation. In addition, a lot of exercises on logic are designed to improve the students’ ability of logical reasoning which plays an important role in seeking truth.]
