Recently, the Chinese Association for Science and Technology (CAST) announced the list of awardees for the 2025 CAST Young Scientific and Technological Talent Cultivation Program (Doctoral Track). LIN Guorong, a 2025-entry doctoral student supervised by Professor HUANG Zhenhua of our Center, has been selected for the program.
Program Overview
The CAST Young Scientific and Technological Talent Cultivation Program (Doctoral Track) is a capacity-building initiative launched by CAST through the integration of governmental and societal resources. Targeted at early-career researchers, the program aims to help participants gain a deeper understanding of China’s national conditions, broaden their academic horizons, and better appreciate societal needs. Eligibility is limited to full-time doctoral students who are Chinese nationals.
Student Profile
LIN Guorong is a doctoral student enrolled in 2025 under the supervision of Professor Huang Zhenhua, a member of our Center. His research focuses on multimodal person re-identification and multimodal cognitive intelligence. As first author, he has published four papers in leading international journals, including IEEE Transactions on Information Forensics and Security, Information Fusion, Neural Networks, and Neurocomputing. He currently serves as a reviewer for several academic journals, including Neural Networks. His honors include the National Scholarship for Master’s Students and the First-Class Academic Scholarship of South China Normal University, among others.
As a Guangdong Provincial Research Base for Social Sciences, the Center for Logic and Analytic Philosophy remains committed to the fundamental mission of fostering virtue through education. Anchored by the logic research team at South China Normal University, and drawing on the strengths of logic, philosophy, computer science, and cognitive science, the Center is dedicated to foundational research in logic and philosophy, promoting interdisciplinary integration, and actively guiding students toward frontier scientific exploration. Looking ahead, the Center will continue to refine its talent cultivation system, support more young scholars in reaching new academic heights at the frontiers of interdisciplinary research and contribute outstanding talents with global vision and innovative capacity to related fields.
