Recently, the Chinese Association for Science and Technology (CAST) announced the list of awardees for the 2025 CAST Young Scientific and Technological Talent Cultivation Program (Doctoral Track). LIN Guorong, a 2025-entry doctoral student supervised by Professor HUANG Zhenhua of our Center, has been selected for the program.

Program Overview

The CAST Young Scientific and Technological Talent Cultivation Program (Doctoral Track) is a capacity-building initiative launched by CAST through the integration of governmental and societal resources. Targeted at early-career researchers, the program aims to help participants gain a deeper understanding of China’s national conditions, broaden their academic horizons, and better appreciate societal needs. Eligibility is limited to full-time doctoral students who are Chinese nationals.

Student Profile

LIN Guorong is a doctoral student enrolled in 2025 under the supervision of Professor Huang Zhenhua, a member of our Center. His research focuses on multimodal person re-identification and multimodal cognitive intelligence. As first author, he has published four papers in leading international journals, including IEEE Transactions on Information Forensics and Security, Information Fusion, Neural Networks, and Neurocomputing. He currently serves as a reviewer for several academic journals, including Neural Networks. His honors include the National Scholarship for Master’s Students and the First-Class Academic Scholarship of South China Normal University, among others.
