HU Zehong has served successively as Dean of the School of Political Science and Law, Dean of the School of Politics and Public Administration, and Dean of the School of Philosophy and Social Development at South China Normal University. He is currently a Level II Professor (second-rank professor) at the School of Philosophy and Social Development, South China Normal University, and serves as the Chief Expert and Chair of the Academic Committee of the Center for Logic and Analytic Philosophy. He is also the Principal Expert of a Major Project of the National Social Science Fund of China (NSSFC), and a “Special Support Program” (Tezhi Program) Leading Talent under Guangdong Province’s High-Level Talent Scheme.

His research focuses on the philosophy of logic and the logic of language. He has published five monographs and two translation volumes, and has served as chief editor of four textbooks. He has authored more than 60 articles in academic journals in China and internationally, and has received multiple honors, including the Guangdong Provincial Teaching Achievement Award and the Guangdong Provincial Award for Outstanding Achievements in Philosophy and Social Sciences. He serves on the editorial boards of Studies in Logic (《逻辑学研究》), Academic Research (《学术研究》), and the Logic volume of the Renmin University of China Reprinted Journals (人大复印报刊资料《逻辑》).
