
Ming Hsiung (Xiong) is a Professor at the School of Philosophy and Social Development and the Executive Director of the Center for Logic and Philosophy at South China Normal University. He holds a B.A. and an M.A. in Philosophy from Peking University and a Ph.D. in Mathematics from Sun Yat-sen University. He has also been a visiting scholar at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and the University of Oxford. His primary research interests focus on logic and analytic philosophy. He has published over 40 papers in academic journals, with nearly 20 appearing in international journals. He is the author of two monographs and one textbook. His academic contributions, especially his works in the fields of formal theories of truth and paradoxes, have earned him several distinguished honors, including Jin Yuelin Academic Award, Hong Qian Award for Outstanding Philosophical Papers, and Guangdong Outstanding Achievement Award in Philosophy and Social Sciences. His research aims to advance interdisciplinary studies involving logic, philosophy of language, and philosophy of mathematics. In addition to his academic roles, he serves as one of the Vice Presidents of both The Chinese Association of Logic and the Guangdong Association of Logic.
