CAI Shushan is a Professor and Doctoral Supervisor at Tsinghua University, where he serves as the Director of the Center for Cognitive Science and Technology Research at the School of Social Sciences. He holds several key academic and administrative roles, including Director of the Tsinghua University Cognitive Science Innovation Base, a major initiative under the Ministry of Education’s “985 Project”. He is also a Council Member of the Chinese Cognitive Science Society, an Affiliate of the International Union of History and Philosophy of Science and Technology (IUHPST), Division of Logic, Methodology and Philosophy of Science and Technology, and a Fellow of the International Society for the Study of Symbolic Communication. Additionally, he chairs the NBICT International Alliance for Educational Innovation and serves as an expert on the National Social Science Fund Planning and Evaluation Panel, as well as a planning and review expert for the Ministry of Education’s Humanities and Social Sciences programs. He acts as an advisory member for the Joint Conference of Natural Sciences and Social Sciences in Beijing.

Previously, Professor Cai held positions such as Director of the Planning Office at the National Office for Philosophy and Social Sciences, Director of the Office of Humanities and Social Sciences Development at Tsinghua University, Vice President and Standing Council Member of the Chinese Association of Logic, and Chair of the Professional Committee of Linguistic Logic. He has authored ten scholarly works, including I Speak, Therefore I Am; An Introduction to Cognitive Science; Formal Theories of Natural Language; and Speech Acts and Illocutionary Logic. His research has been published in over 160 academic articles featured in prominent domestic and international journals such as Chinese Science Bulletin; Social Sciences in China; People’s Forum · Academic Frontiers; Philosophical Research; and Journal of Peking University. Among these, 120 papers have been fully reprinted by the China National Knowledge Infrastructure (CNKI).
