Professor ZHANG Jianjun is head of the logic group of the Philosophy School, Nanjing University. He is the founding director of the Institute of Modern Logic and Application at Nanjing University. He has been Vice President of the Chinese Association of Logic (2004-2024), Chairman of the Special Committee of Logic of Science (2000-2014), and also Chairman of the Special Committee of Dialectical Logic (2014 - present).

His research interests are in the areas of modern logic, philosophy of logic, logic of science, dialectic logic and epistemology, especially in relation to the study of logical paradoxes. His recent research interests are in “logic and action theory” and “situation theory”. He is now working on establishing “methodology of logical actionism”. In addition, he is an advocator to study about the social and cultural function of logic in China.
