XIONG Wei holds a PhD in Logic from Sun Yat-sen University. Currently, he is a Distinguished Professor in the Department of Philosophy, Sun Yat-sen University, a Research Fellow at the Institute of Logic and Cognition, a Key Research Institute of Humanities and Social Sciences of the Ministry of Education, and a Research Fellow at the Center for Logic and Analytic Philosophy, Department of Philosophy, South China Normal University (Guangdong Provincial Research Base for Social Sciences). He also serves as Vice President of the Chinese Association for Logic, Chairman of its Inductive Logic Committee, Outstanding Teacher of Guangdong Province, and Chief Investigator of Major Projects of the National Social Science Fund of China. His primary research areas encompass philosophical logic, rational choice and game theory, and reasoning under uncertainty.
